I think Doppelmayr was like the first to use the tire conveyor system because the Skyliner Express, a 1989 Doppelmayr HSQ has it, while the REXX HSQ at Crystal still has the chain system was built around the same time period.

I'm not sure when Poma went to the tyre turnaround, but it was definitely later than Doppelmayr as Cameron has pointed out. Rex (1988) and the Eagle (1989) are both chain systems. I think it may have been in '91 or '92 that Poma finally developed their own tyre system. Anyone seen any Pomas of this vintage?

I have only seen Poma's in the 95-00 year range, but the Angel @ Sunshine Village uses the cadence system for a short periode. I wil try to get a diagram. Nakiska, a ski area in Alberta has two Doppelmayr hsq in the 86-88 year range, and when I went there, one of the hsq the chairs were constantly missing the cadence chain at the bottom terminal.
