This are two videos from the old single chairlift "Gletscherlift Hohe Mut" in Obergurgl, Austria. The lift had been build by the vienna company Wolf & Switzeny and was later rebuilt by the tyrolean Wopfner company, abadoned in summer 2008.
The first video shows the liftride:

In the second video you can see the machinery during running. Have partly used the nightshot function of the cam to make dark areas visible:

Thanks for the post Markus.
The lift looks to be quite steep. Do you know the length and vertical rise?

Dino
Hi Dino, the vertical rise was 605 meters, the length 1525 meters. Only the upper part of the lift had been rather steep. Based on the steep grade (max. 75 %) and the short chair hanger arms i could touch the lower part of the ropewheels on support towers with my hand as you can see in the video too - new version of ropewheelsurfacetesting.... :w00t:
The lift had been built by Wolf and Switzeny in 1954, Wopfner reworked it in 1975.

That is an interesting and informative video. I guess I'll have to change the way I have been pronouncing "Poma".

Cool vid! I'm glad that a project that involved actually seems like it's paying off for those who use it.

What does go wrong? You don't hang onto the chair and jump! In the first video, with the empty chair, look how much that swings!

By the way, what lift is this? It appears to be a Doppelmayr modified Yan high speed quad, but the only ones I can think of like that are like the Christmas Express and Frenchman Express lifts at Sun Valley.

Wow! Too many things to list here. I wonder how the folks at Sun Valley would feel about what their operators are doing when nobody is watching, especially from the inside of the chair? Goes to show how important good training and supervision is...

The Leitner single chairlift Ortisei - Rasciasa / northern Italy will be
abadoned in september 2009.
Based at bad maintenance in the last time the lift meantimely is in absolute
unacceptable technical condition as you can see here, nevertheless the lift has
to run until 30.08.2009:
