I was there on Friday (the 12th) and once again forgot my camera. Good conditions, though. Nice shot of Chair 4.

Sometimes it can be a good thing, to not have HS lifts. Smaller crowds on the mountain.

I really like the HS lifts when there are more then one, but when its just one on a mountain, it is kinda annyoying becasue the other lifts seem so slow in comparision. Personally i dont mind unless the fg lift is like 15 minutes long.

Loveland doesn't really need high-speed lifts, unless they were to replace Chair 2; the thing has something like 260 chairs and stops all the time for beginners. Otherwise- lifts like chairs 1 and 6 don't take that long, and you still get plenty of runs in.

Does anyone know why they have decided not to remove chair 5 yet?

Maybe if all their busses broke down they would still have a way to move skiers?

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

far as i know chair 5 is not even lic to run....... I thought something happened to it and it was not worth the fix. and if that is the case then it's not lic to run.

I hadn't heard about that. I know a number of years back it dropped a chair but it has run since then.

How about the poma. Does it ever run?

I'm glad to hear that an older lift like that poma is still up and running.
Its really wierd having to dodge people on the catwalk that the poma crosses.

I don't know if Chair 5 is licenced, but it is in operating condition. It's starting to sound like Outrigger at Winter Park. Keep it up. Tear it down. No, keep it up. I wish they'd operate it, as the shuttle service is kind of hit or miss weekdays.

I've heard that Loveland is not planning to upgrade their lifts any time soon, so we are stuck with what is there.

I wouldn't say we're stuck with anything. The only really long ride there is chair 2 from the bottom, but with the mid-load there's no reason to go all the way to the bottom. Plus you can access the mid-load from chair 1, which gives you another run to break up the lift rides.
