What is SAM?

Also, a student of a Ski Area Management Program. I attended Gogebic CC, in Ironwood MI. Honestly, it wasnt much of what most consider college, but more of a life experience, that helped boost my career into this business. Maybe not my best decision, but my office everyday is pretty sweet. To get off subject, if I had a choice now, I'd look at civil engineering or a geography/geology type degree.

Like most folks on this forum, I'm the kind of member who leaves the real forum work to others who seem to have more energy than I do. I occasionally fuel the fire, and in doing so, piss some people off. I usually contribute when it suits me - and not always when I'm needed. Like others, I join in the complaining about what is not being done - yet fail to participate in getting it done. Like most forum members, I'm a lollygagger.

I like to think of myself as a professional in this industry - and I tell others that they are too. But are we? When I read through these pages, I have to wonder.

The skiers and ski lift enthusiasts that show up here need not concern themselves on this issue - you are "looking in", hoping (I assume) to get a glimpse of what's really going on - like "car buffs" who read Car & Driver. Sometimes I feel we should apologize for what you see trickling out from the real SoRT forums - where the "pros" do battle. Maybe you'd be better off just reading stolen copies SAM - where the nitty-gritty is always nicely glossed over and the sun always shines.

Finally, I'm the kind of member who thinks that the serious business of SoRT should be moved to an entirely different website. I'll be happy to continue being the playful jerk on this one - and dead serious on the new one.

I am a skier, but I have always been amazed by the lifts. So I guess you could call me an enthusiast.
