Well at least it's 2-ply. I hate that stinkfinger stuff.

Some even better news on toilet paper.

Toilet-paper researchers create 3-ply tissue
September 16th, 2008 @ 1:37pm

NEENAH, Wis. (AP) - If two-ply toilet paper is good, then three-ply tissue must be better. At least that's what toilet-paper researchers in northeastern Wisconsin hope.

Yes, there is such a thing as a toilet-paper researcher. And a team of them at Georgia Pacific's Innovation Institute in Neenah has come up with a three-ply version of its Quilted Northern product.

The new product will be launched Monday. The company touts the toilet tissue as "ultra-soft" and says it plans to market the product to women 45 and older who view their bathroom as a "sanctuary for quality time."

Industry analyst Bill Schmitz is skeptical. He said extra layers make toilet paper stronger, not softer, although he said Georgia Pacific may have added extra fibers for softness.

Sounds like you're doing well so KEEP ON TRUCKIN !!!!! Looks like you run I-80 a lot. You must be an expert in wind ! Better gas mileage heading east eh ? Do you hang out with Ryer ? I thought he lived in Gardenerville also. How has gas prices changed your business ?

My ankle is still junk but thanks for asking.

I do see 80 often, load out of Cen Cal, run east to the Midwest, sometimes to the Northeast( try to avoid that area, too many people) runs circles there until it's time to go home. Coming home it's a toss of the dice. Sometimes 80, sometimes 10, or 40 into So. Cal and then up 5 back to Stcokton, where we have a yard to drop trailers. Stay out 3-4 weeks.
Wind is not a friend, 53 foot trailers are nothing but a HUGE SAIL. Yes i do get better milege going east. Then again depends on how heavy the load is. going across Wyo, with less than 25,000 lbs in the trailer, can be real exciting.NOT. lol

Fuel prices for most part don't effect me as a company driver. Our company works deals out out with the large tk stop chains for lower fuel prices. All large trucking companys do that. IE: promise to buy so many millons of gallons a year at a set price.
They have our company trucks set at 65, and all of them have apu's so we don't have to idle when parked.
That runs the ac and heat for us. As well as 1800 power inverters for 12 volt power. The company spent $16 millon dollors in the last 20 months, to have them installed, thus a return on the investment is coming back. Apu's are plumbed into the cooling sytem of the trucks engine, to keep the emgine warm , during those cold Wyo nights. No more cold starts in the morning.

The high fuel has put alot of owner opeartors out of buisness. According to the latest #s from a industry anylist, somewhere in the neighhood of 40,000 O/O/s have either parked thier trucks or the bank took them back. This since the first of the year. You really need to have business smarts to be able to make a living as a O/O

No i haven't seen Ryer. I thought he was from the Sacramento area.

Hope the ankle gets better soon.

ok, now THIS is a rather bizarre way of unloading a truck! I brought 44,000 pounds of loose newspaper from a recycling center in Boise, ID to a mill in Longview, WA. I was wondering HOW IN THE HECK are they going to unload me??? They had me open the trailer doors and back onto this platform that had a chute and conveyor at the back of it:

then someone came out and pushed a few buttons, AND THERE GOES MY TRUCK UP IN THE AIR!!!! They tilted it up and everything dumped out the back!

Does it give you a shaking if you have a clog, or does it just keep increasing the angle?

The shaking or the angle?
At what angle do the fluids run out of the top of the engine / fuel tanks?

Both of them blew my mind. :cursing: I didn't see it coming lol. The first one was definitely more funny I'd say, the second was much more random, not to mention more painful to watch :pinch:

Hey, EagleAce, good to see your getting around! Just FYI, your beloved Eagle lift is getting replaced by a shiny new Doppelmeyr. Demo starts next week!

I was in Denver for the Great American Beer Fest. Here is a pic with the founder of Samuel Adams, Jim Koch & I. Yeah, he is the guy in the commercials.

They do this at the potato chip factory we paved last year. Every time a truck pulled in our paving operation would slow down or stop because everyone wanted to watch.
