Does Dollar Mountain now have 4 high speed quads? These two are a different two than they installed last year? Seems like a bit of a waste.

These are the two installs from last year. I thought they were to replace half Dollar and Elkhorn this summer , but it doesn't look like it. Anybody know what's up?

Half Dollar and Elkhorn were gong to be replaced this summer but it has been postponed. Not sure if it will happen next year because the River Run Gondola is going in. By the way the liftline for that lift has been cut this summer.

I noticed that line was cut earlier this summer/late spring. Just happened to look over one day and say "wow, there's a big new line cut up to round house". So are they doing anything else this summer, or was the plan to just cut the line, and start constuction next summer?

And they are doing the same thing to Littlecat at Snowbasin.. 2 and a half min ride up. What a waste of money.

I thought it was a joke at first when they replaced First Time at PCMR, but once I tried to snowboard off that lift, it's a nice way to learn. If you make a good impression on the beginners, you win their loyalty. The lift also is nice for getting out of that parking lot up to Payday (and now Crescent). Maybe the new Little Cat will help access to the lifts to the left of it, but I would have spent that money in other places in the Snowbasin lift system

About the only 2 lifts that may be due for replacement at Snowbasin would be Wildcat and Middlebowl. But the thing is, they really don't use those two unless its a high traffic day, such as the weekends/holidays. Becker and Porky were put in around 85/86, and from talking with a liftie up there this summer, those two are bulletproof, very solid and reliable, they anticipate keeping them for quite awhile yet. They have the right idea by adding a HSQ (or tripple perhaps) in the Strawberry Bowl area, thats just in the investigation phases right now, but it could happen as soon as next year.

Wildcat is an Early to mid 70s Thiokol install, and Middlebowl is a late 70s CTEC Install. Both still run like champs according to the liftie I talked with no problems with them at all.

I've been there a few times and they haven't ever run Middle Bowl while I was there. Seems like there's good terrain off that lift that you have to take the gondola all the way down to get to.

There is definitly good Terrain off of Middlebowl. Until they put in the HSQ and 2 Gondi's, you had access to mostly blacks and blues from MB, and just one or two Blacks from Becker and Wildcat.
