I take it those towers will be stablized with guy wires? I've never seen guy wires on tramway towers before.

Here is a photo I took of the bottom terminal when I saw it in late June:

No guy wires, the top tower has a pair of struts anchored diagonally into the hillside.
The other photo is north across the east face of the counterweight enclosure towards the Grand Teton.

I'm glad to see things are progressing nicely. I hear the track ropes are up. Tensioned, too?

I'm sure you guys out there are pretty damn excited to get a new machine! It's a far cry from
the early days!

I know that East Ridge was put up as a temp solution until the new tram. Does anyone know if it staying for this season or is it being removed?

I think I read it is staying for one more season and then going somewhere above the gondola, pending Forest Service approval.

Carl, all the track ropes are up and pre-tensioned; full tensioning will begin in a couple days, starting with rope "D", the north track. We're all pretty jazzed about it all.

CH3skier: The East ridge is still in place but will not run this season

Jim: from my source, the East ridge will be moved and will go from the base of Thunder up to the top of the Gondola to access Bridger Restaurant/top of the Gondi.

Yeah Jeff, that's what we heard as well. Top terminal should terminate just below the restaurant, in between GV, and Ranger I think? Seems like it'll be pretty congested, but it'll be a good show on the weekends and holidays!
