You mean you don't want to help me splice it? Splice length will be around 90-100 meters.

No, I've done my once in a lifetime splice. Drinking beer is way better. :beer:

How do they pull a rope across the 4600 foot canyon? This project is really interesting

Actually it is a 4600 meter canyon.

A 60 ton winch at one end and the aforementioned hydrostatic spooler at the other. I have some video of it on my camera, just no way to compress it for the net. What is really cool is how they get the rope around the anchor bollard and down to the take up spool.

I bet mythbusters could come up with a better and more interesting system that this, gunpowder, avalanche gun, and some ballistics gel just for fun. :w00t:
