I know that at Aspen or Aspen Highlands there is Ruthie's. It has triple chairs but Aspen only allows 2 people to ride it. Does anyone know why? Also I have never seen a high-speed double with double chairs.
I believe they wanted to keep the character and approx capacity of the old lift. They seem to be using it as a triple now. When I was there earlier in the month they had a big sign saying something like "THIS IS A TRIPLE CHAIR", and triples were indeed loading.

What I saw in the gallery was that it said that only two people could load it

Ruthies is at Ajax and they post it on the trail map and in promotional materials as a HSD, most likely for marketing value to say that they are the only resort in North America with a High Speed Double but at the base of the lift there is a sign which says it is a triple and to load it as such. Even at spring break times though, when I have been there, it hasn't been busy enough for it to be loaded as a triple.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"
