The successful applicants will provide safe and efficient uphill transportation for our guests and fellow employees by constant monitoring and maintenance of our lift equipment. Assessment and action on all potential problems or risks and respond to all lift related emergencies. LIFT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Effects repairs and maintenance on lift equipment.
2) Conducts inspections of lift equipment.
3) Documents all work and inspections in detail.
4) Monitors safety conditions of lifts during operations.
5) Responds to any lift related problem or questions, during operations.
6) Dedication to team work and the learning process.
7) Monitor effects of high winds during operations.
8) To maintain a clean and safe working environment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1) Interacts with operations and guests to allow best use of equipment.
2) Rigging for all phases of maintenance and repair.
3) Provide support to other departments on projects within our sphere of expertise.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
1) Will supervise and assist in training for operators, apprentices and helpers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:
1) Ability to work at heights.
2) Must be fully versed in all mechanical aspects and maintenance procedures on lift equipment, including detachables and conveyors
* Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, (high and low voltage)
* Knowledge of machine tools, and their use
* Welding
* Rigging experience
* Advanced skier or boarder
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
1) High school.
2) On the job training.
3) NDT training
4) Ski Industry Training Seminars.
5) Completion of Journeyman Apprentice Program or similar in-depth training program.
6) Specialized training programs ( Apprentice, Machinist, Electronics, Engineering).
EXPERIENCE:
* Apprentice lift technician. (3-4 years)
* Detachable lift experience
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
1) Mountain and shop environment.
2) Heavy Equipment. ( loader, back hoe, forklift, boom truck...)
3) Computers.
4) Trucks, ATV's, Snowmobiles and Snowcats.
5) Machine Equipment. ( Drill Press, Mill, Lathe, Gas-Arc-Mig-Welding, Hydraulics, Electrical Test. )
6) Precision measurement tools.
7) Rigging equipment (wire rope/nylon slings,reeving blocks, etc.)
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
1) Must be able to climb Lift and Tram tower ladders.(ranging from 5 ft.to 150 ft.)
2) Must be able to stand and work on platforms, railings, structural steel beams, etc. for up to 3 hrs. at a time.
3) Must be able to accomplish item #2 at heights ranging from 5 ft.to 600 ft.above the ground.
4) Must be able to access and ride moving carriers, such as work chairs, tram carriages, and/or other units attached to a lift system for maintaining line equipment.
5) Must be able to suspend oneself in an approved safety harness and remain suspended for periods of up to one hour.
6) Must be able to successfully self-evacuate from a stranded chair orthe Aerial Tram.
7) Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. (min.) on a daily basis.
8) Must be able to adequately drive a 4-wheel drive pick-up truck in mountain-type terrain with trips of up to one hour.
9) Must be able to safely operate heavy equipment, snow grooming equipment, snowmobiles, and 4-wheel A.T.V.'s
10) Must be able to perform all of the above listed duties in extreme weather conditions and at night, if required.
