The top is the side with road access. It is kind of like Zuma Bowl in that the bottom is more remote.

Ahh, makes sense.

Fresh pics from Boyne Mountain.. new Meadows. Lots of work in the last week. Nice galvanized towers, all but 3 are up. Fall colors are the best in years, helps it 80F+ today.

You've got a heck of a lot done in the past week last weekend the only thing I saw was the blue base tower and concrete foundations.

It's hard to tell exactly, but it appears the new lift at boyne has a new lift line. The master plan had this lift as HSS which would have been cool. There is a lot of skiing between vitor and superbowl lifts. I had hoped a better lift allignment would be used with this new lift and it appears it may be better now. Attachment shows my best guess of lift line for the new lift based on photos. Lifts in yellow/orange are all gone now but were (listed from top to bottom) medows, thunder and top notch.

On the master plan that I saw, the Thunder lift was the one that was replaced with a HSS and it started down further, but since they decided to replace Meadows and change the lift line, maybe that plan no longer stands. The only reason I could think that they would put in a HSS down there is for the Alpine Condos on Superbowl, or if they added more lodging down there. The disciples HSS actually makes sense because it would be way longer than this lift and even a bit longer than both the current Disciples lifts. I had a sequence also of the 5-step plan for the village expansion, and I think it showed some lifts, but it accidentally got deleted...

More Grouse photos from yesterday. http://skiingbc.info...tos2.php?id=344

I don't think we'll be riding these lifts for a while yet! I didn't see the towers anywhere.

Nope, that looks to me like the leg for a Uni-Star bottom drive terminal.

There was any doubt?

Yes, there was one article which said it would be a high speed quad.

Yea, I agree Skier. Looks Uni-Star indeed.

What company is doing the loading carpet?

The lift line is the same, just longer. The top is the same, only a steeper ramp.

There are signs now for a new condo development near the former bases of the Thunder and Top Notch lifts. The lodging at the base of Superbowl is Bluegreen owned, so I wouldnt expect any special catering for that specific area. Meadows was old and cranky and needed to go. The new lift should handle current skier levels just fine and cheaper. A HSS longer than DI or DII, not really possible unless you like ski-walking. A plan is only a plan, and only possible if they can sell lots and condos.

I think the HSS on disciples is planned to go where the alpine lift is now.

Nope, from what I saw it was supposed to go between the two lifts and down into a new housing development.

Correct, thats the plan. Then I'd take DI and locate the load near the bottom of Ramshead and take her to the top Disciples, with new steeper skiing and easier access.
