That is correct. That is why I used the phrase "Normally Operating".

It is a daily operating chair when snow permits. It is at Mount Eyak in Cordova, Alaska, an established ski area operating for Cordova and the surrounding communities(which there are few of). The area operates 8:30-3:30 and while they have a shorter season due to being a coastal location the resort operates daily during the winter season. The chair is only slightly modified from its original configuration when it was in place at Sun Valley, primary upgrades included the drive and the return bullwheel.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

To add to the list of upgrades, towers 1, 2, and 15 are new. Tower 2 used to be a Riblet tower that was replaced with a lattice one for looks. Towers 1 and 15 are depression towers that originally had each 2 pair of sheaves mounted to the tower. The new towers use modern rocking assemblies. I am guessing the reason for this is to make the ride smoother.

I can definately say that the ride is a lot smoother with the new sheaves. It "feels" like a new lift it just "looks" like the old one. I am surprised with the way that MRG is that they didn't want it to ride the same as the old one!

...they didn't weld on any pole-hooks to the chairs..

I heard they left the hooks out because they weren't original.

A new computerized drive and electrical system was put in. The drive components are in the motor room, to hide modern technology from the public!

Its a bit strange to imagine the MRG single with the same touch screen controls as a modern Doppelmary CTEC.

No plans to replace it at this time, installed at Mt. Eyak in 1974 purchased from Sun Valley for $20,000 after Sun Valley removed it in 1968, original install in 1939. Oh and it was the Christmas Ridge Lift when at Sun Valley. According to the head of the sheridan ski club that operate the mountain it runs daily in the winter and part time in the summer for sightseeing and hiking.

Edit: I also found out that the original single chairs were replaced and have been offered for sale, in 2006, no idea if any are still available.
