Brixen has a cute single.

Wagrain's summit chair has bubbles, which are very nice on a stormy day.

At Rohrmoos, the high speed six pack crosses farm fields and dairies under the shadow of Dachstein.

Austria may have a separation of church and state, but can you say the same about skiing? Here's a community t-bar near Ramsau Ort.

Planai has a super modern gondola terminal.

And a double t-bar.

Many lifts use conveyor belts to aid loading. Here's one at Planai.

Finally, the new rage in Austria seems to be high speed 8 seat lifts with bubbles and heated seats. Here's the one at Flachau.

I don't think I could complain about having a high-speed eight-pack with bubbles and heated seats all to myself.

That bubbled HSQ is weird. It looks to be a Doppelmayr by the grips, but I have never seen anything like that for chairs.

I wouldn't like heated seats. All the snow on me would melt and soak into me.

Why couldn't they of come up with "Global Cooling"?

These Doppelmayr bubbles didn't last very long, but I think about there are 8 Doppelmayr HSQs with them.

I thought that would happen, too. Actually, what I really thought was that the seats would be wet from snow melting on them. Well, as with most things, the Austrians have already thought it all through. The bubbles rise automatically when the chair enters the load/unload station and lowers automatically when the chair leaves the terminal unless someone is sitting on it. I guess it's weight activated. So the chair is not warm enough to melt snow on your clothes (unless it's on your behind, I guess) but the seats are always dry. I was never wet.

I think that bubble lifter switches have been around since the mid 80s. I remember that the Vista Bahn had automatic bubbles when they were still on the lift. Now I wonder, if you're on the chair with the bubble down, does it automatically raise it once you reach the terminal?

During public operations all bubbles are opened automatically when they come in the station if the passenger has not already opened it.
