Here is the Dakota lift at Big Sky, the third location this lift has been installed. Before it was Southern Comfort and I amnot sure where it was before that.

I love those old Heron-Poma vault drives! That silver color is kind of annoying. Nice Pics though!

What year was Southern Comfort installed as a triple? 1989?
If so, it is the old F Lift from Copper Mountain, CO without the bubble double carriers.

What type of drive?
Anything is possible when you don't understand what you are talking about.

F was a top vault drive with a tensioned bottom return.
If you are refering to the electronic drive, you have to remember I'm a Dinosaur and can't remember.

When Old F was picked up in the parking lot at Copper in '89, they cut the grips and hangers loose from the bales and left the chairs. They said they would convert it to a triple without bubbles.
So the answer would be in the year of installation for Shedhorn and Southern Comfort. S.C.'s return terminal looks more like Old F than Shedhorn's (lower to the ground).

Southern Comfort went in in 1991, Shedhorn in 1995.

Thanks. Sounds like they stored it and then put it up in '91. If you're still there, why don't you ask one of the staff on the history for confirmation?

We have asked and the only used lift they know the history of is the Lone Moose triple there which is the former Peru lift from Keystone.

So if Southern Comfort was F from Copper, does anyone know where Shedhorn was from?

Now we know why it opened so late:

"Big Sky in Montana had relocated Copper Mountain’s old ‘F’ chair, Heron Poma, and it had an incident where it tore off backstop during testing."

From the minutes of a Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board meeting.
