It probly is the persons fault, like... At crystal last year the discovery lift was probly stoped about 5 times in a minute because a number of people didnt know how to get on the lift. Im pretty sure it was a lesson.

That is part of the deal on a beginner lift, it is always like that on Discovery.

If you think thats bad, at Snoqualmie people can't seem to read when a lift is for advanced skiers only and try to get on and off it.

Sorry to go off topic, but speaking of whackos at Snoqualmie being in over their heads, I couldn't help but snap a picture of this kid after losing his season pass on chair 2 at Alpental and crashing down the ramp. The lift op soon discovered the pass was hanging from the chair.

we have very few lift-related incidents at Badger; most of our injuries happen on the slopes. I can't remember the last time I had to fill out a lift incident report. I do agree that a lot of it comes from parents not teaching their kids.

It is a part of responsibility code of having knowledge to load and unload lifts safely. Beginner lift, well that is just going to happen but isn't it easier to get off Screaming Eagle since it is a HSQ? When it is another lift, well that is when you have people doing dumb things loading or unloading.
On other lifts, it could also be smaller children since they usually slow down the lifts along with due to the loading height takes them longer. If they completely stop it, perhaps someone might have decided to cut someone off while loading and not letting the person know and then they fall off the chair. Happened to me once and I was not happy.

If you aren't smart about loading lifts, ITS AN OKAY THING TO ASK!
