I was talking to a liftee at Brighton a couple weeks back. He said that all the CTEC guys were all there checking the lifts to see how well they've held up over the past years because another group wanted to know what kinds of lifts to use in their possible new area. I've heard of it going in in the Canyon south of Snowbird and Alta or south of Deer Valley. Just a rumor I've heard nothing confirmed.

...and why would CTEC be reviewing their own lifts to make recommendations? Why wouldn't the developers rep's be doing this review?
I agree with aug.

Hey, for all I know the liftee was high. This could be that new Aspen that they're trying to open up, which i firmly disagree with. He said that CTEC was checking lifts probably with a rep from the resort person.

It's very likely that's what was going on. When I worked at Deer Valley, CTEC would always bring up potential clients to check out our lifts. They'd get a couple hours of skiing and they'd get to see the machine in action. DV and other Utah areas are CTEC's show room.
