Greenwater, WA; down the road from Crystal has the most snow it has had in 30 years!
This chart has the northwest snow depths in comparison to normal levels. All are well over 100% of normal.

Southern Wisconsin got another big storm this week (everybody got a foot+, which is big around here). More than 1000 vehicles stranded on the freeway over night. I think snow totals are within an inch or two of record for most snowfall in a single winter.

Here are a couple of photos of the parking lot on I-80 yesterday. My wife and I were coming back from a recruiting trip for JHMR at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. We were about 45 miles east of Rawlins when we drove up on this. I guess a tractor trailer blew over on its side blocking the entire freeway, we ended up sitting there for about 2 and 1/2 hours. The visibility was horrible up until Rock Springs and a normal six hour trip turned into an 11 hour trip.
We're up to 381" this year, and it's been blizzard-like all day here. I'm pretty sure we'll break 400" by Sunday!

Colorado is getting hit hard right now too, not as much due to the amount of snow but because of the wind. In summit county its near white out conditions and the roads are some of the slickest I have seen in years. Its predicted to last until tomorrow night, hopefully all of our snow doesn't end up in Kansas. I also hope our power stops flickering off and on.
Oh and we are also above average snowpack for this time of the year, we're at about 138% statewide at last report.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

Teton Pass and all south routes were closed yesterday! Even the village road closed a couple times towards the end of the day. Teton Pass was closed over night and it isn't expected to open any time soon. Apparently an avalanche path that hasn't slid in 30 years closed the pass, and it's a huge mess because there were trees in the slide path. Crazy winter!

I was reading the Wenatchee Daily Wipe last week. There was an article about global warming and less than average snowfall in the West. On the next page there is this article about how our great governor had declared a state of emergency in 14 counties in Washington State because of the large amount of snow.
