I'm out in Park City now, and I made it up to Deer Valley yesterday. I heard from people that the new Lady Morgan lift was broken down for about 45 minutes on Saturday, the first day it was open. I got up there on the second day it was open without any problems. The lift is a Doppelmayr CTEC with 60 chairs, 11 towers, and 90 degree loading. The chairs have different backrests from DV's other UNI-GS lifts, with the two slat backrests. It's not that long of a lift, and it's a lot shorter than it looks on the map, but it's pretty steep. They put in about 200 acres and 9 runs, everybody I talked to loved the new area and I did too. There's a big double black glade that I barely got into yesterday because I was by myself, three nice bump runs, and some easy ones to get in and out of there.

Line shots. You can see DV's new yellow signs that are on all the lifts, replacing all the white ones

Too bad !!! :crying: You used to have to do some work and be sneaky  to get turns over there. Now all you need is a DV lift ticket

Today, Sunny and not very cold like 35 temperture. Not bad. I rode Lady Morgan Express. There was very few like 6 skiers, no long lines, not many. I wondered why. I think the trails are only three and they are short, not much to do. Most skiers ride Empire Express. I think DV wastes to have Lady Morgan instead of replace Mayflower to have a high speed lift.

To my knowledge, Deer Valley did not buy this lift but a real-estate developer in that part of the resort. However, Deer Valley does incur a cost of operating it.

When was the last time Deer Valley paid for a lift themselves? I heard even Sterling and Sultan were paid for by developers, and Silver Strike definitely was. The new hotel on Deer Hollow will probably pay for the Deer Crest HSQ when the time comes too.

I think Deer Valley paid for Sterling and Sultan out of their own pocket. I can't see why a developer would put down any money for those.

Those were built while I still worked there, and I don't think a developer paid for them. But it makes sense for that hotel to pay for a Deer Crest upgrade doesn't it?

I see. Thank you, SkiBachelor and floridaskier.

There is a new building right next to Empire Lodge and Empire Express. I don't know what is it, maybe hotel or condo or shopping.

Here is view from top of Lady Morgan. Background is Park City area...fog and temperture was 5.

That is going to be a new hotel/resort called The Montage.
