"Maybe there is no Heaven. Or maybe this is all pure gibberish—a product of the demented imagination of a lazy drunken hillbilly with a heart full of hate who has found a way to live out where the real winds blow—to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whisky, and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not getting arrested . . . Res ipsa loquitur (it speaks for it self). Let the good times roll." HT

Of the 4 ski areas left with no snowboarding policies, Taos was in a unique position because it is not close to any other ski areas. Alta, MRG, and Deer Valley all have neighboring resorts that allow snowboarding so there is less pressure on them.

If that is the case, why would they wait until the end of March if they already made the decision?
On that same line, Burton was sponsoring a "poaching" project for boarders. http://www.burton.com/poachers
The video is a laugh if nothing else.

According to www.ridetaos.org's FAQ:
Why not open right away? Why wait?
Lots of people had bought their passes and made their plans before we made the announcement, we felt like we needed to honor our contract with them. This also gives us the opportunity to really celebrate the end of one era and the beginning of a new one.
