Just curious if someone out there could give me an idea of what type of lift the one in this photo would be called? This photo was taken around 1938 at the Snoqualmie Ski Bowl. It appears to be a handle they are hanging on to that is attached to a long rope hooked up high to a haul rope, etc.
Thanks,

Nice find! Looks like the "towers" were poached from a nearby electrical line. It appears to have a grip and C shaped hanger to which a rope extension and a platter are attached.
Only the 3rd guy down the hill appears to have discovered that it should go between your legs (Unless that's what the second person down the hill has discovered and has forgotten about skiing!)

You're right, the Milwaukee Road built the entire ski area to boost ridership on its passenger line.
Snoqualmie Guy- What is currently called Summit West was originally called Snoqualmie Summit and later, merely Snoqualmie (still should be, IMHO).

You forgot one......
1933-40: Municipal Hill (Owned by the Seattle Parks Dept)
Prior to being sold to Ski Lifts, Inc. in 1941. Ski Lifts, Inc. ran the lifts starting in 1937 but didn't take ownership until 1941 after the city of Seattle decided Snoqualmie Pass was too far to be running a city park.
