Limited operations means just most of the lower mountian.

Usually, yes, but I noticed on the website a minute ago that they're opeing up 6 and 9 as well. 6 is running to access Powder Bowl and the middle and lower portions of Lucky Shot. I don't think I've ever heard of or experienced that kind of opening at Crystal before, must be a wierd snowpack this fall. Have fun up there!

Baker is open as well. Their site didn't say how much of the area, but there were pictures of both 5 and 6 operating so one can figure 1, 2, and 3 are open as well.

Baker opened, but I don't think chairs 1&2 were open. I've heard a rumor that Snoqualmie will open this next staterday and Alpental the next weekend.

No weird snowpack, but a lift that is not finished in Northback. I went up today and was able to go far skier's left and onto sunnyside, which has excellent coverage. It clearly had nothing to do with snowfall as people who hiked up to Green Valley said it was groomed and ready. The only reason that Campbell Basin was not open was because the traverse was a mess, people were hiking up it though. I will post some pics later tonight, the snow was incredible because it was so cold.

Because the top of the lift is not in Northback and people duck ropes. Plus there weren't too many people and it was pretty cold. I am hoping the whole mountain will be open next weekend. Only problem is that they got 40" of snow in the past 3 days and are supposed to get 5" of RAIN tomorrow and Tuesday.

It's too bad all this wind showed up here in the Northwest. The storm that was supposed to drop all this snow will only be able to drop a few inches here in Oregon.

The rain is forecast for here too, but starting at 1200 metres for tomorrow (our base is @ 1186 metres) and then rising late tomorrow to 2100 metres.

Will the 5" melt a good chunk of the snow away from the past few days? According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday should be in for a snow forecast and the freezing levels to go back down again. The Monday forecast just is the only question. Will the rain help or make things worse for getting the Northway lift operational?

Well a little rain would help stabilize the base, but 5" is a lot of rain. I think after the rain the Northway lift will require another bit of snow before opening. They lift some pretty big stumps on some of the runs and some of them have whole trees cut but not removed.
