Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

Uh... yeah - and I guess so - in that order.
Any bets on whether the load-unload incidents will increase?

Apparently, your other lifts don't have such devices.
NOTE TO SELF: ORDER SIGNS FOR TOP TERMINAL THAT SAY "RAISE THE COMFORT/LAP BAR!!!"

Comfort / Lap Bar. I like that.
No, the other lifts do not have them.
I (and Corporate Image) thank you for the signage reminder.

More Utah Ski Resorts Open
November 24th, 2007 @ 6:15pm
(KSL News) Despite Utah's lack of snow, several more resorts fired up their lifts today.
Brighton opened with just a 10-inch base, runs in Snowbasin opened with a 12-inch base, and the snow at Wolf Mountain was just 15 inches deep when the resort opened. That's not a lot, so most of the resorts are making snow to fill the void.
"Beggars can't be choosers. It's not too bad considering the lack of snow everywhere else," snowboarder Karl Vizmeg said.
Skier Cecilia Ullua said, "Yeah, there's not that much snow out here, but you gotta get what you can get, right?"
"I'm happy to be out ‘cause something is better than nothing," snowboarder Nate Vangilst said.
These resorts join Park City and Solitude in early season openings.

I remember seeing pictures from that season also with very little snow. The season I remember is 1980-81. This was the season Breckenridge only received 75 inches of snow for the entire season. Not many ski areas had snowmaking back in those days and it was a lot more limited than it is now. It is definately the snowmaking which is saving most places this season however the question is how much snow can a ski area make before the concern arises about water consumption? Maybe that is why Winter Park does not open more terrain with snowmaking.
