Are any ski resorts in USA opening this month yet?

Most ski resorts in Utah are closed, and there is zero new snow yet. The temperature is average 70 now. I am sad.

Tyrol Basin, WI also was open this weekend. No lifts, but jibs and hiking.

I was at Ski Brule, MI on Friday for their "We're open/Customer appreciation days" free skiing day. Conditions were actually probably some of the best opening day conditions I have ridden in the Midwest.

A few more are scheduled to open on Saturday the 17th here in the Northeast:

Okemo, VT
Killington, VT
Attitash, NH
Waterville Valley, NH
Jay Peak, VT
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

Vail and Beaver Creek will be on Friday. Buck Hill has already made a few attempts at snowmaking with very little success. However, this weekend looks good, and all of the ski areas around here will probably start the guns.

Boreal Ridge opened Monday with one lift and one run.

Heavenly hopes to open the upper Nevada side this weekend, weather permitting. It has been too warm for many Tahoe resorts to have success with snowmaking.

Okemo and Killington are actually opening on Friday. Killington was planning it, Okemo is going to open a day earlier than planned. I just looked at Sugarbush's page and they are planning on opening now on saturday as well. Stowe is also planning on a Saturday opening now.

Today, Heavenly posted on their main page that they are backing out from opening this weekend due to lack of natural snow and too warm of temps to make decent man-made snow (the last thing Heavenly needs is "Sierra Cement X 2!").

They hope to open up during Thanksgiving Weekend and are praying for snow to come with the storm that is to arrive on Sunday. The temps on Monday thru Wednesday are to be in the mid- to low- 50s in Reno, so this equates to about high 30s to low 40s above 7000 feet. However, if the low temps in Reno are due to valley inversions, then all bets are off whether the Tahoe resorts will be able to open decent runs for Thanksgiving.

We open the Flyer on Saturday, snowmaking permitting. That brings us to three main lifts and four trails, as well as our little teaching area. Let It Snow! I'm going to wear out my brand-new skags before I have a chance to drive on real snow if it doesn't precipitate soon.

The Bush is only opening for the weekend and then closing until Wednesday I believe. The opening is in honor of Stein Erickson who will be honored at the New England Museum Banquet on Saturday night.

i inversion rate has been killing snow making in the Tahoe region. however temps for next week look awesome, look for most Tahoe resorts to be on line by thanksgiving.

Good thing they're honoring him up there, it doesn't look like Deer Valley will be in any position to honor him anytime soon. There isn't a natural flake shown on the webcams in Park City right now, but Alta and Snowbird look better. The Canyons pushed back their opening date, although it seems like the snow is the least of their worries right now. Alta: "Our optimism for a November 15th opening hasn’t been supported by Mother Nature." Let it snow! It's comforting that Solitude's open, even though there's only two runs

The season might be late for Utah and other areas but it's not too late as far as I know here in WA. Right?

Why couldn't they of come up with "Global Cooling"?

Boreal closed Friday due to lack of quality snow and warm temperatures. A storm was to hit the Sierras today, but it is beautiful day and is clear to the west, north and south. Actually, it's a great day to go mountainbiking.

Unless the weather pattern changes and temps drop (I'll believe it when I see it), Mammoth may be the only resort in the Sierras open for Thanksgiving (Broadway Express with one run).

It may be another dry year in the Sierras!
