I just got word that the ski area in Green Valley Lake, CA (Trinity Mountain Resort) is on fire because of the Slide Fire.
No exact details on the Riblet Double, Poma and structures other than word that the entire forest in the area is a blaze and nearly every home on Angeles Drive and Falling Leave Drive was destroyed.
The snowmaking reservoir at Snow Valley is being used by aircraft to help fight the fires.

I have not seen Green Valley to confirm what is lost but for those who know the area there was fire on both side of green valley road, but not total destruction, starting just above camp cedar crest. Fir burned around much of Calvary chapel campgrounds, but the structures appeared to be OK, (Randy your trailer appeared unharmed too).
I didn't go past Calvary Chapel but the local news is reporting 80 homes lost in GVL. I went to my house and the fire is in Deep Creek/The Narrows behind Running Springs. (1/2 mile from my home) but the neighborhood appears ok.

Snow Valley will likely remain protected, but no employees live there. Keep us posted on who needs what.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

I too wish you the best and hope your home stays safe. The destruction has been sad. I have relatives who live on Fairway Drive in Lake Arrowhead, directly southwest of the golf course (Grass Valley). I've been reading the scanner reports from Rimoftheworld.net and it sounds like based on someones account today that their house may be ok. It's amazing since it seemed that they were directly in the path of the fire.

As for the fire it has been slowly approaching the resort from the north side and has slowed down alot over the last day or two because the winds calmed. It sounds like three of the year round emplyees have lost their houses as of now and there are many houses that we are unsure of. My house and all of my families houses are ok except my youngest sisters. We don't know about hers yet and it is an area that saw some losses. A sherriff is going to check it today. My wife and kids left here yesterday because the smoke was too thick and are going to her parents house by Redding. They are unofficially estimating another week or more before opening the area again. We are kind of guessing around Nov 3 or so. I Guess I'll have plenty of time to catch up on paperwork since I am living in my office.

You can still see the hill smoking in the background and this 6 days after the fire began.
