Thats a long distance between towers. There seem to be more gaps like those on older lifts. Anybody else notice this?

Many manufacturers used to put large spans on lifts as a cost-saving measure. This practise has largely gone away due to considerations such as line bounce and sag, carriage travel, and overall tower loading.

Murray-Latta did that quite a bit- their lifts are the worst I have ever seen in terms of sag between towers

I agree 100% Murray Latta chairs are the scariest machines ever built. The mystery peak at Mount Seymour sags so badly. I wouldn't want to be on it when the emergency stop was pressed, I think you would literally fly off, you haven't benn on a scary lift, until you have been on Mystery peak when the STOP button is pressed.

The funitel gets some nice sagging. You go up a nice 20-50 feet on a quick stop. Fun stuff, but you are in a cabin, so it makes it easier

There's one span on the Red chair when the lift is loaded just right you can stick your tips in the snow, pretty scary.

The doppelmayr double servicing mott canyon at Heavenly, CA/NV is is scary as i have ever seen. you are VERY high, at least 80ft in some parts and there are no safety bars. my friend dropped his chap stick and we both just sat there and watched. nobody even thought about moving or grabbing for it.

The old Dinosaur lift at Hyak did that as well- definitely a Murray-Latta characteristic. Although C-3 and C-4 at Baker didn't bounce as much, probably due to the slower deceleration rate of the diesel prime mover.

I haven't found Mott Canyon Chair to be that scary. It follows the line of the slope quite well. Compared to some of the chairs at Squaw (red Dog) it is no big deal.

Well the lift has Poma Diamond cabins, so maybe Leitner or Poma. But the towers are new to me so who knows.

Poma France, which isn't merged with Leitner.
