It tells you how much it takes to take that thing off the cable.

I agree that the video showed the complexities of removing the cabin, and it looked neat but, to date OSHA is not bothering the ski areas much. Hopefully no one that works for OSHA will view this video.
Note to person posting the video make sure that 9 or 10 regulations are not being broken when you post something like this. Your good intentions could blow up.

As much as that video was very cool to watch, I still must say it's sad to see it come off. :crying:

Now that is a respectful way to take down a lift. As for OSHA.. baaah.. I won't go into how big of a joke they are after the crap they put a few fully complient companies through. No one got killed, no one got hurt, thats all that matters.

There were other people taking pictures and video when I was there and it's not my fault if the crew that was removing the cabins weren't strapped in at times. They were from Europe and don't have regulations like we do.

FWIW,

That's not the first time the cabins have been taken off the tracks. I remember carriage rebuilds and A-frame replacements and then there's the 1989 Cabin Replacement job.

I'm glad to hear the job is going well.

Joke or not they can cost a company thousands of dollars. All I was stating is that, at this time they are not looking at us, let's not give them a reason to, or you will find how little of a joke they are. I am currently on a project and with all of the OSHA regs. it is a nightmare.

Regardless of OSHA, Insurance Companies, HR Requirements, etc: this is historical footage. Thanks for taking the time and the footage, Cameron!

They should put one of the cabins in the Jackson Hole village and use it as a coffee stand.

Which they've done once already. I think it was when the cabins in question were new and one of the old cars was used to sell hot dogs etc. at the base. I haven't heard what the fate of the new cars is, but car 2 is sitting in the vehicle maint. shop at the moment getting its floor re-installed.
I should add the A-frame for car 2 is sitting out in the parking lot next to all of Garaventa's rigging boxes...haven't seen the carriage.
