To start things off, I didn't do anything stupid. And there were NEVER any signs saying keep out of the engine room! If they had wanted me out of their ski area then there would of been some kind of sign saying so. There was some signs that said to not go into the lift shack or the lodge, so I did not go in. Now will you guys stop getting on me for this and lets get back to the subject. Thanks
- Jeff

One day you will hopefuly mature enough and realize that at 16 you do not know everything as you seem to think and hopefuly you will realize the errors of your ways. Until then realize that signs or no signs you are not allowed to be anywhere in or on a lift with out permission of the resort where the lift is located and regardless of where that lift is located you are still tresspassing.

As someone who works in the ski industry I implore you, please save all of us the headaches and seek permission not only before entering lift structures but also ensure that you have permission to be on the land that you are hiking on to. Most resorts are happy to allow someone who is interested into the lift structures for pictures or a tour and much information can be obtained from many of those who work on those particular lifts as well.

Please keep yourself safe and our asprin budget from climbing by using some common sense arround lifts at ski areas, running or not.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

I think Poloskier summed it up.

But I will add one more thing.

A gate is there for a reason! NO SIGN or not.

We are not trying to discourge you from getting pics but we are looking out for you.

Dont take this the wrong way.

Have a wonderful day.
Jeff

Well now I am regretting even posting these pictures and none of you have been to this place so I used my common sense and never climbed a tower where I could be in trouble if the lift started. Also Poloskier can just stop and let me deal with my errors instead of telling me what you think I should be doing. I do not want to come across mean but this is my problem and not yours.

I must say that climbing on lift and into it was not the best idea. Like those above have stated, a mechanic could start the lift with you on it or in it and cause harm to you. Lifts are powerful machines, however they lack the ability to know when someone is being hurt by it. A lift would have no problem shredding you to pieces. This goes to everyone, including mechanics; Be the machine's brain. Please do stay off and away from lifts, just for your own safety. However, pictures are fine, as long as you are being safe around them.

Like I said I was never in any danger, I was being 100% safe. Just because I am 16 I know about lifts and have been around them and other things alot more dangerous. This needs to stop right here because we are going :offtopic:. I would be happy to talk about the pictures.

I am not telling you what you should do I am simply making suggestions to save your self a criminal record or worse, death. A ski lift is a machine that for someone who does not know how to act arround them can be a very dangerous machine, and by your actions you make it obvious that you dont know how to act arround one.

If you don't want to listen to me fine, just think of the poor bastard who would have to scrape your mangled body off the parts of the lift, before you go climbing arround on lifts again without permission. All I offer is advice to better yourself and to prevent you from causing yourself problems in the future, sure you got away with it once but that wont always be the case.

I am done arguing this point though you can't help those who don't want help and you can't make those listen who will not open their ears.

I guess Bill Engvall got it right:

"You can't fix stupid!"

Final Say!

If you want to take images in the shacks, towers and motor rooms, you do so at your risk. The suggestions are just that... suggestions.

But in the name of safety is why everyone is so cautious and warning users from doing such things. Also, if you got hurt a lawsuit might be brought to the resort and then they would have to raise the ticket prices by $80 a person to cover the payoff to the lawyers that made out like banshees at your misfortune, which means people may lose jobs due to cutbacks and so on and so on and so on...

Vicious Circle!

BTW - The tower images are cool though!

:)
