Just by debunking the stories surrounding it.

The real answer...let me really load test it.

There are three roads to ruin; women, gambling and technicians. The most pleasant is with women, the quickest is with gambling, but the surest is with technicians. Georges Pompidou

If they rid of that lift, I would like to have one "free" chair from that lift and I put it in my backyard.

Just don't know where to start.
Yes, machines probably don't have a soul or a heart, but they do have a history. This particular lift has a great one.
It provided safe passage for many years to who knows how many guests. Home to some of the best views of real day bump skiing ever. (Spademan bindings and Scott boots on 200's.)
I cut teeth on this lift years ago and it was old then.
Too many names of people and old friends come to mind when considering Chair 10.
So, I hope Vail saw fit to fire these guys if for nothing else but re-defining "Moron" in the lift dictionary.
That old lift deserved better.

By the way, real lift mechanics could take a Riblet clip out by twisting a chair without a 10 ft. 4 x 4.

you said it! If I were the boss I'd fire 'em for not using the right equipment and it looked like they were horseplaying. There's a right and a wrong way to dismantling something. I was joking on my earlier comment.

Agree, what a careless way to do it. The weird thing is they actually sold those chairs to people as a charity benefit I think. What a dumb way to get rid of a lift. Sun Valley gave their old lifts this year to a non-profit ski area.

EagleAce and Peter,
Thanks
Don't usually get that worked up.
You just have to recognize history and the people and life that go on before and after you.
Best Regards

I am glad that others feel the same way I do. Hell I proposed to my ex-fiance on Lift-1 up at Loveland! Just like LSS spent great times on lift 10, I spent my great times learning to ski, talking to people, and learning to appreciate a great machine like a skilift on Becker and Wildcat lifts at Snowbasin. When it comes time for Wildcat to be torn down, its going to be like havling lost a best friend. Fortunitly she will be there for a few more years yet.

I feel the same way about Eagle at Badger Pass. I didn't learn to ride there, but I've had a great time with that lift. She's got a lot of life left!

Wouldin't the old lift be worth something used? It looks like they are just going to scrap it? Sad to see it go.

RIP #10, that's no way to go. That old riblet gave me many great bump runs on highline, blue ox, and roger's run. I'm suprised that was posted on youtube?

I agree, that was a disgrace. That old Riblet deserved better then those punks. Its served well for many years, and should have been removed with respect.

Maybe we should all complain to Vail Resorts about how we find it a disgrace!

Vail did sell their chairs from 10. I talked to the lift maintenance dispatcher.
