Looking for help or recommendations in mounting a Hall DBL chair, circa 1960's from a single pole for a swing... also any information on this chairs origin would be great (we were told it is from sugarbush, though do not recall them ever having a HALL lift) it was purchased from and antique ski shop in the Evergreen CO area. They have two strings, two doubles (brown and yellow) that apparently came from the same place, all chairs have a swing down safety bar and foot rest.

-- Thanks

The cheap, very temporary way........

Its been in its storage position in the garage for the past year. Once our new deck is built in the backyard, I'll figure out a way of hanging it as a swing permanently. Right now its just hanging by a old shower rod which is just strong enough to support the weight of the chair. I've planned on using a 1 or 1.5 inch grade 8 bolt when its mounted to a swing frame.

I hung mine from a Douglas Fir tree, tying climbing rope in a loop through where the grip went.

Isn't there a specific angle that the grip was bolted on to so that the chair would balance when loaded?

No. The chairs usually have a counterweight on the inside somewhere to balance them. If you hang the chair from a flat-mounted bolt or shaft it will hang straight.
