I usually hit up Crotched Mountain here in NH after work for night skiing. It's small, (900 feet of vert) but the place is 100% lite for night skiing (including the glades). I believe that they are open till 3 am on Friday and Saturday nights, but I've never had the chance to hit that up. Would love to do it though.

900 feet, you don't know how lucky you are. How does a 328 foot hill sound to you?

It's not the the size that counts it's how many times you can yoyo up and down
Where I grew up in New York was a 400ft vert! Ski Club on Tuesday night it would be nothing to yoyo up and down 25 times in 3 1/2 hours. By the way that is a little resort called Cockaigne.

Thats the same with Snoqualmie 1,025ft virt. Then on empty nights I see how many chairs I beat down the hill. It's great fun!

Last time Ex-Liftie and I went night skiing was up at Grouse Mountain on the North Shore, about six years ago. Very cool view of Vancouver at night.

I have heard when Mt. Pilchuck was still in business they had night skiing and you could see it somwhere along I-5 which is a good distance from the area on a clear night.

The little resort I mentioned, Cockainge had very few lights on the "Trails" most of the lights were on the slopes and they relied on light coming through the trees to illuminate the trails. It made for a creepy time skiing but wicked fun!

It's all fun and games, until your on the closing shift in PHQ and the rocket scientist that wired your mountain put the switch for the lights at the top of the mountain... nothin like a quick run in a blizzard in the dark... :w00t:

I've heard real night skiing is fun except for the little bumps that creep up on you.

I read in an issue of Skiing Magazine that Tamarack opens up at night on full moons and many times there's enough light to ski in the trees and not hit one.

I've seen a photo circulating on the internet of this- it might have been on Jack's site (hyak.net)

Crystal's website says that they will no longer offer night skiing. Does anyone know when they started night skiing?

That is new this year then, last year they still had it. Sad really, I guess there wasen't enough business for it. Also there was only three chairs open, right?

Yeah, just 3. They have had approval to add night skiing to Forest Queen as well. That would make it legit.
