Does any one like to go night skiing? I think it's fun because there are smaller crowds but also not all of the trails are still open.

I like it just for the convenience not the the condition. Like you said at night not all runs are open and most of the trails are eaten up and no good. However if count in wildside wendsdays if you know what that is then it can be as good or better than the the day time.

I only did it once, at PCMR where they only have 2 runs open. It was still fun

I live in the midwest and night skiing is more popular than day skiing in many places because all the ski teams train after school and the freestylers come out and the ski schools and adult leagues come out.

I sometimes go night skiing. It's fun I guess to see your shadow. Actually the best part is to watch the fireworks from Wild Irishman. They always have fireworks on Saturday nights. But night skiing is not very popular. At Keystone they run three lifts and have about half of their front side terrain open. Although it is nice to have a total of 300 people on the hill. (Except 36 hours of Keystone, but that's a different story. ) And recently they only have night skiing from Thursday to Sunday.

What places elsewhere have night skiing?

I have only gone night skiing a couple of times, and both of them were at Snow Summit. Snow Summit has about three lifts open not counting the beginner chairs. It is fun but the best time to go night skiing is while it is snowing.

I night ski a lot. I too, like skier2, am from the midwest where an average ski area would go out of business without night skiing!! (this excludes Lutsen, MN....) Usually, in Minnesota, all trails are lighted on the hills. With the exception of a few ski areas, all of the lifts run at night as well. In some cases, like Buck Hill's New Quad, the lift opens from 4:00 pm to close during the week.

When I was younger we used to have a ritual where a few of my friends and myself would go to boyne mt for night skiing on a few Wednesdays during the winter. But those time have come and gone. I did however have one good day of night skiing this season. It was this rare occasion when Mt Zion was open for night skiing and it so happened to be the last big powder dump of the ski season. I could go on and on but for now all I am going to say that it was a blast to say the least.

night skiing is alot of fun because of less crowds and the lift that i ride to get to the summit(a center pole riblet) is over a trail that is closed at night so it is pitch black most of the way up.

Brighton has some fun night skiing. It is two for one on Friday nights with a X96 card(radio Station). Makes it $13 a person and the hours go from 4:00-9:00. Park City used to have some fun night skiing until 9:00 when Payday was a triple, but now it only goes until 7:00 and it's expensive.

Only two ski resorts: Park City and Brighton have night skiing. Park City has only two runs, Payday Lift and First Time Lift are operning (only winter, not summer LOL). At Brighton, Crest Express Lift, Majestic Lift and Explorer Lift run and I think about 6 runs. I do enjoy night ski a lot except one thing scared me to death...it bothers me. When I ski, I see the shadow on the snow, which the chair moves, and the shadow looks like skier or snowboarder hit or crash into me. LOL. That was from the chairlift and lights, the shadow size was big than the sun shots, and the shadow was small size. That is different. By the way, top of the half way of Crest Lift, there is dark area where no lights are and also, there is no full moon. It is fun to see dark area.

My first times snowboarding was at night and for my first year about 99% of the time I spent at night. At Snoqualmie night skiing is almost a bigger deal then day skiing.

I used to do far more night riding then I do now, back before wife and kids. Most of my nights were at Alpental or Ski Acres, but I did go to Stevens a couple times and that wasn't bad. I've also had a couple nights of bullet-proof snow and ended up spending most of the night in the bar. I don't do night time hardpack anymore.

I go night skiing more than I go day skiing... I get the season night pass at my local ski area although it was a waste last year with the terrible conditions up here. The day passes are just too expensive for the terrain.

I usually hit up Crotched Mountain here in NH after work for night skiing. It's small, (900 feet of vert) but the place is 100% lite for night skiing (including the glades). I believe that they are open till 3 am on Friday and Saturday nights, but I've never had the chance to hit that up. Would love to do it though.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.
