Posted: 12:20 PM- The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association will break ground next month on a $22.5 million national training and education center in Park City.
USSA President and CEO Bill Marolt called the "Center of Excellence," which will be at Quinn's Junction near the intersection of U.S. Highway 40 and State Route 248, "the most important project in [USSA's] more than 100-year history."
The 85,000-square-foot facility will feature a gymnasium, climbing wall, strength-training areas, ski and snowboard ramps, trampolines, nutrition center and rehabilitation services. Computer and multimedia rooms also will be developed to allow athletes and coaches to analyze physical and equipment performance.
"This center has been a vision for over a decade and will have the best sport science and training facilities for our diverse athletic needs," said Marolt. "The center represents our heart and soul. It is our commitment to the hundreds of young athletes striving for their Olympic dream and will bring together all of us, across all sports, as one great American ski and snowboard team."
