80's Yan fixed grips. I like their simplicity from an operator's standpoint. My lift at Badger ('86 FG triple Yan) has the cleanest, simplest motor room I've seen.

Wow. I'm surprised that there hasn't been this topic already. You should make this into a poll. I'm pretty impartial on the brands of lifts, but I do like L-Ps a lot. They're really comfy, and I like the UNI-G terminals from Doppelmayr. But I don't like metal backrests on the chairs. One of my favorite lifts was Quicksilver at Whistler. I loved the way it looked and it had seats that actually looked comfy. It's too bad that that's the one that brought down the whole company. To pick a favorite, though I would say Leitner-Poma.

Riblets might be old and slow but are classics.

Why couldn't they of come up with "Global Cooling"?

The Yan at mt hood meadows (heather canyon) is a nice smooth ride and the seats are soft.

This topic has been posted before, but it is always removed because it isn't very productive. There are employees from both Doppelmayr CTEC and Leitner-Poma here and both make a good product.

What are you thinking? Good copies of original ideas are always productive.

Garventa CTEC, Hawk Six Pack at washington is fairly smooth for a six pack even at 5.08 m/s. Smoother than Forest Queens or Chinook Express on Crystal. (Man I wish those chairs would get refurbished perhaps the grips too)

I'm sure that there is another poll just like this on the forums.

Anyways, Doppelmayr is the top on my list! I just love their station designs and chair designs. My second choice would be Yan. I am only a real fan of the older box-tube chair Yans. I love how smoothly they run and how comfortable the chairs are! Riblet is three, and POMA is four. Hall would have to be 5.

FYI, it is PHB-Hall, not PBH-Hall

Lift 21 at Vail, CO (Orient Express) would be my favorite lift. I love the CLD-260 terminals. For some reason, I have always loved 21! My second favorite would be the PHB-Hall gondola at Lutsen, MN. It has such an interesting liftline and it is very cool to see the mechanical workings of the gondola! My third favorite would be Pallavicini at Arapahoe Basin, CO. I like it because it is comfortable and half of the chairs are like 30-40 feet above the uphill rider chairs. Also, the lift covers some very interesting terrain and has a very steep incline!

Overall, my favorite manufacturer is Doppelmayr.

I agree, the Stealth III's are incredibly smooth. The Six Shooter at Moonlight is really fast and smooth. I still like Doppelmayrs better though.

Forest Queens and Rainer Express seem really bumpy near the towers than most other lifts. REX also has those goofy small seats.

It's bumpy because of the DT-104 grip. If you compare it to the Agamatic grip, you will notice that the clamping area is smaller for the Agamatic grip.

Did you mean DT-104?

Anyway, that's true that you hardly feel anything at all with the AG-104 grips. The Beaver Creek D-CTEC's are some of the smoothest I've ever been on. The Poma TB-41 grip varies on smootheness lift-by-lift. I'd say though that the Omega T-grip is equally as smooth as the AG-104. The worst for bumpiness that I have been on is the Garaventa AK-4.

I find the older Yan carriers rather uncomfortable! I like their 80's style triples the best. My second would have to be Garaventa CTEC. I haven't ridden L-P or Doppelmayr. As for appearance I must say I like the simple no-nonsense square look of Yans the best. I'm the same way with lifts as I am cars--I don't care for the aerodynamic looks of new cars.
