This is a planned skyride in Northern California. Seems pretty pie in the sky to me.

Since they don't list any predicted cash flows/annual revenue on its website, I would not invest in this project.

It also appears that everything is talked about in nominal terms, rather than the real rate so you need to be careful about this sutff.

Two things I noticed:
1) Opening date : March 1, 2007
2) Indian Casinos

"To our knowledge, no similar gondola project has ever failed, anywhere in the world"

"Within 10 years, 100 people will be employed directly by the Mount Konocti Gondola Skyride."

"This project will impact the overall economy of Lake County by more than $100,000,000 annually, within 10 years"

"Similar gondola "theme park" areas all over the world have demonstrated their unlimited lifespan, and product stability not imaginable among "high tech" investment alternatives with comparable rates of return. This project will continue to attract millions of tourists for hundreds of years! Sterling, Queenstown, Banff and Palm Springs have each attracted over 10 million tourists so far!"

"Banff Gondola in Alberta is Canada's premier tourist attraction."

Kind of off topic but does anyone have any information on that on why it didn't get set up and why they didn't try to sell the remaining equipment to atleast make some money?

The abandoned gondola was completely finished, but some group decided to bring a suit against the owner the day before it was supposed to open and it put a halt on the entire project. It was pretty much like a knife in the back since this was the group's intension most likely.

The other lift across town, called Portal Vistas or Moab Scenic Skyway was a CTEC quad chair, it lasted for a few years in operation before shutting down. That lift was sold to Big Mountain and installed last year as their Easy Rider Quad.

interesting. I haven't been to Konocti or Clear Lake in almost 20 years, since my parents and I moved from the SF Bay Area.
