Thanks for the diagram! I guess with the rope routing the way you have it, both loops are the same length. Are both loops driven off the same motor/drive?

Here are some photos of what I came up with tonight, based on the Funifor photographs I could find. It's still very rough (espically the terminals), but I got so excited looking at photos of that one in Italy today I coulnd't resist. :)

I like him too! ;) I started when I got home from the office (~8pm) and stopped when I had all the ropes run and a temporary drive system rigged up, which was about midnight.

On my funitel, the drive is in the bottom terminal and one motor drives the two bullwheels. It is geared for more speed of course. :D

I'll get some pics of the K-Nex ski resort I've built in my backyard up soon and I'm adding a new lift so I'll put up pics of that too.

Your pictures have brought my mind out of the stagnation that is school (speaking of school I think I should read this sentance to my english teacher). When I get home I'm bringing my tram out of the scrapyard, the towers are all there so i'll string up the line and get it going again!

This is what my old tram looked like in april, I took it down in june, In the end I had made so many modifications that it tore itself apart, but over the summer I redesigned the tower and made new towers so it will look completly different.

Thanks for the comment crazyskier91. All my lifts have motors, so they do work. My favorite is my bi-cable gondola. My tram has gone through many design's, but I am pleased with my currant design. One of my pulse gondolas works similar to the one in Squaw Valley.

Here are some pics the light of day was running out so I wasn't able to get many but I'll get more tommorow.

First the first tower of one of our lifts Thunder Rigde.

Second is a rough pic of our bobsliegh track.

Third is a pic of strawberries tower 3 with chair

Fourth is a pic of the bottom station of the new lift Seahawk which is mainly meant for accesing the future grandstands that overlook the ski jump and the bobsliegh.

Fifith Seahawk Tower 2

Sixith the top of Seahawk with the only drive terminal We've been able to build that works besides one other design

Now I've got my eye on this for a model...

Savoie, France - Vanoise Express.

http://www.poma.net/english/actualite/even...noi_ex/main.htm

How frickin' gorgeous is that?

Some statistics:

Height above ground: 380 m
Travel time: 4 minutes
Speed: 12.5 m/sec (45 km/h)
Capacity (per cabin): 200
Span: 1.85 km (!)
Builder: Poma

Sooooo good!

Those cabins are awesome
Are there any towers on that? It looks like it just goes over the valley

No towers - That is also a huge benefit to the design of the hangers, which can come down from both sides so that the cabin suspension encapsulates the supprort ropes guarenteeing absolute safety.

The span between the terminals is just under 2 kilometres! Surely that must be about the largest anywhere? The speed seems rather remarkable to me as well. I am curious how many other systems go that fast.
