I believe that these buildings were part of the old Silver King mine, which was located at the top of the original "lift" in Park City - the Silver King aerial tramway, see http://www.parkcitymountain.com/summer/com...ownhist_15.html for a photo. (These are also the towers that parallel PCMR's Town Lift.)

There was an entire town located at the mid station of the former Park City Gondola.

I recieved the email letter from Brent Giles, Park City Mountain Ski Resort about the old large building.

Here is a letter:

That building is part of the Silver King mine operation. That
particular building covers the main shaft that was used to enter the
mine. Inside is the hoist and cages that was used to lower the miners
to their daily work areas and also lift the ore out of the mine for
milling. Uphill of the hoist building is a smaller concrete building
that was used as a change room for the miners.

The large multiple storied building that is a short distance down the
canyon "east" of the bottom of Bonanza lift was the mill.

Mid Mountain Lodge, before being moved to the present location, was
located directly above the bottom of Bonanza on the Lower Angle Station
Road. The safe is still there in the original location and the door is
in plain view although sometimes it doesn't get noticed because it is
above your head and goes into the side of the hill.

You can check this link for a little more history.

Thanks and come visit us this summer.

What did the original King Con triple look like? What manufacture was it? Did SLI ever make triple chairs?

The original King Consolited triple chair was a Thiokol which was installed in 1973.

I can't think of any SLI triples, but there was an SLI quad built at Homewood.

Lets see..

I recall an old SAM article back in the day about Park City that involved transporting skiers via ore carts and elevators that didn't last to long.

The story about the heli incident is true. A very sad day.

I'm almost 100% that SLI never built a triple. Quad, yes. Surface lift not sure. Gondola no, but they wanted to.

What year did they replace the PayDay SLI double with the Yan triple?

Here's a picture of the PCMR lower mountain that shows the old Payday line and gondola line. It's from a few years ago, they're not as easy to spot now since more trees have grown in
