I visited Ski Ward, MA yesterday and was able to take pictures. The only chairlift they have is a triple with 43 chairs and 5 poles. It was manufactured by Partek. For anyone not familiar with Ski Ward, its website is below as well as picture descriptions. Feel free to use any or all pictures on the website.

I was wondering the same thing when I was there. My final decison was yes just because there was a brand new triple chair and new snowguns as well. I am sure the locals and ski teams use it.

I never skied there but i knew some folks that did, it's small but it services boston as a community ski hill, as do many in the area. I grew up skiing just a bit farther west at Otis ridge(no not otis airforce base that's on the cape, i get that alot) I don't have any pics from those days but some day when I'm back there I'll try and get some(it may take a few years.)

I have mentioned this before from a straight skiing aspect, with their location and being a sliding hill also, from skiing / sliding they make as much (if not more) money than some of their bigger competitors.

Yes they do make money. I learned to ski there back in 1986.

This looks just like the hills around here! (Minneapolis, MN Metro) Surprisingly, these types of hills are very profitable. They make money off of their ability to open with all man-made snow, and they're great for learning to ski, or novices. But, like with all small hills, you have the most fun if you're in the park, or racing! Little hills almost always have pretty good terrain parks.

Ski ward is very small, (vert. drop less than 200'), I think their chairlift has 6 towers. Despite their size, they do well due to their close proximity to Worcester (Massachusetts' second largest city).

I would like to ad a comment to Lift Dinosaur's post about Partek. They are very much in business. They are still in Pine Island NY. I buy parts from them all the time. They are handling all the old Borvig lifts doing upgrades etc. It is true they are overseen by Doppelmayr and cannot build new lifts but they will build and refurbish and sell used fixed grip lifts.

True. Let me clarify- PARTEK is no longer in business. The successor company is now call Ski Lift Parts. It still sells parts and services out of Pine Island, NY.

Very cool pictures and thanks for sharing them, great to see cool little resorts like Ward.

That's a real nice Partek too, they made some great looking lifts it's too bad they aren't still making new lifts. They were one of the better recent FG designs I always thought. Oh well, I guess every company that makes lifts will eventually have to be assimilated into the collective that is Poma or Dopp.
