Whenever the forest service approves their plan. Right now they say December 2007 for the Record of Decision, so the earliest we would see improvements would be Summer 2008.

I think the plan was to take out all 3 existing lifts, installl a high speed quad on the frontside following the Dino liftline, and a high speed quad in the middle between Hyak and Central. Then Silver Fir would be moved to service the backside of Hyak.

Any body ever hiked up from Keechules to the old Dino lift and gone down under the old liftline? That run is great on powder days!

It was a trip at night, too, regardless of whether there was new snow. The trees up near the top were more like weeds at one oint, which made for all sorts of little jumps and kickers. Throw into the mix the fact that the last several towers of chair 1 had no lights on them- you had to rely on the ones from chair 3- and it got real interesting.

I remember one, between the bottom of chair 3 and the middle area of chair 2. I believe there was another that ran up to that one from the base of 2. Otherwise there were the Upper (where chair 3 is now) and Lower (where chair 2 is now) Pomas.

Sorry for the late reply (I've been MIA). The Dino replacement chair has been approved for a few years, its just waiting for Booth to install it. Same for the backside, but as Brewster has said that won't happen for a couple years after the quad is in place. Little Gold is suppose to move to the center and dump off just below where Keechelus loads so beginners don't start off on steep terrain as they do now.

The next lift will either be Dino or SilverFir replacement, or maybe at the same time. Talk was that Silverfir triple would be used for the backside lift, but who knows....

FWIW

So would the Quad be high speed? It would be nice to see that place be fixed up.
