Millicent and Evergreen Lifts To Be Replaced

The Millicent and Evergreen chair lifts will be replaced this summer with a new CTEC Dopplemayr high speed detachable lift. If you have any suggested names for the new lift, please send your suggestions to info@brightonresort.com

I will visit there and I will take pictures durning processing new lifts. I will post them for you.

Skier, I am sorry...too late for take pictures of both Millicent and Evergreen Old Lifts  .

EDIT by Jonni: Repaired broken link to Brighton's website.

sad day indeed for Millicent Mtn. If the lifts were getting to hard to maintain, they should have installed either a fixed quad, or two new doubles...that mountain can get crazy as it is!!! No need for a detachable in my opinion

Agreed. At least its not going to be a HSS though. I wonder if the new lift will be as high up as Millicent was between towers 12 &13. I have a special picture somewhere of my Daughter & I riding the Evergreen lift when she was 3 years old into the sunset (it was toward the end of the day). Special memories.

i believe its the millicent lift..whichever one has that high point between the two towers 2/3rds the way up has to be the scariest lift i've ever been on. no safety bar, enormous drop and steady cross winds = scary. inho.

You are correct, it is the Millicent lift. Having the lift stop quickly when your chair is over that high section is always a-thrill-a-minute too!

Millicent and Evergreen...the chairs and the haul ropes are down. They cut each haul ropes about 3 feet (I forgot to take the picture...sorry). There is a chain through all chairs, so no one can take one.

Bye Millicent and Evergreen.

Brighton installed a new conveyor lift is right next to Exploror Lift. :shocking:

Me, too. I wish I knew they remove the lifts, I could ride up and I take the pictures of the top lifts. I found out the news right after they were closed (April 16). Too late. I could hike up there due water and very mud.

Are either of the lifts being purchased and moved to another ski area?

Top of Millcent terminal was removed, and the shelter stands there. Top of Evegreen still stands. Bottom of Millcent and Evegreen parts are apart down. Towers are removed.

I think a new HQ lift will be on Millicent old lift place. New lift equipment don't arrive yet.

Great pics, thanks for sharing them. Any idea on why some of the cable is cut into pieces?

Does anyone know who is doing the demolition of these lifts?
