Though the last time I rode the old Lionshead Gondola was a while ago, I recall some sort of strange accelerator mechanism that got the cars up to line speed. It would take each carrier individually down the track and then return for the next. Does anybody remember this and/or know how it worked?

The system was a ac invertor motor on a track. Similar to the funitel at Squaw only that has a tire bank. Timed and fired as requred by the carriers as they departed.
