As a regular Squaw Valley skier, I noticed that some of the chairlift data for Squaw is definitely wrong, and some of it seems wrong. For example the Red Dog chair is listed as having the same vertical drop (~294M) as the Far East chair, which is definitely wrong. The Red Dog chair has nearly the same base location as the Far East chair and lands about 105M higher up the hill. Red Dog should be listed as having a vertical drop of about 397M, not 294M.

Also, for example, the uphill capacity (people/hr) and HP for the Headwall high-speed 6-pack is listed as being about the same as the KT-22 high-speed quad, even though both chairlifts have almost exactly the same vertical drop and ride time. I would expect the Headwall chair to have more HP and about 50% more uphill capacity since each chair holds 50% more people and the spacing seems similar.

Can anyone tell me the source of the chairlift data on this site? Is it from the manufacturer? The ski resort? Third party estimates? I love this site. But I'm wondering about the accuracy of the data.

Thanks.

It is from Ski Area Management Magazine's lift construction surveys which come directly from manufacturer data. However, the data could be for the wrong lifts because SAM's survey does not include lift names. I'm sure someone can check and make sure.
