The midstation was removed in 1998 when the lower terminal was replaced and moved uphill to make way for Chinook Express.

You got it half right- the bottom was moved uphill just because they could. The lower terminal of the Chinook is in exactly the same spot as the old Midway Shuttle terminal and they didn't have to move the bottom of 4 to build it.
$0.02- The new bottom terminal location makes even less sense than the old one. Niether one was at the actual bottom of the hill; before the relocate one could conceiveably hike up to the lift (or ride the rope tows when they were there) but now you pretty much have to ride chair 8 in order to access the lift. The old Quarterway station was good because the skiable pitch of Quicksilver ended there, as did the intermediate Boondoggle run. Now you've got what amounts to a flat walk to reload the lift.

It is never open anyways these days except a couple weekends a year. When it is, no one rides it. It is faster to go Chinook to Forest Queen to Never Ending Trail instead of taking Discovery and Quicksilver

Never Ending trail is the trail that goes from halfway down queens to the top of Quicksilver. It is the only way other than South back to get to the top of Quicksilver. Boondoggle was a blue until a couple years ago when it became a black.

A non marked trail. If you traverse high through the trees at the top of toilet bowl on queens the trail is marked with ribbons on the tree branches. You end up on the Silver Basin runout and get to the top of Quicksilver.

6 is great as long as you can see. Being above timberline you get fogged in quite a bit. My worst run as a kid was going down Powder Bowl in a whiteout; I ended up with vertigo before I got to Lucky Shot.
You really have to know where to look to find the Neverending Trail. The ribbons must be new; they weren't there in '01 (granted that was 6 years ago). Snow Garden used to be called Lower Queen's Run but after chair 9 was built and the left-hand (now main) cut was put in hardly anyone skied it. I assume that's why they changed the name. Boondoggle is blue when groomed and black when not. Does that mean they no longer groom it?

It has not been groomed in years. The ribbons were new last year I think.
