Alright, today Cameron showed me this place in northern california; Dyer Mountain. This place is going to be quite the resort. Here are some hightlights:

-2400' vertical drop, the fifth largest in California
-3,000 acres of skiable terrain
-Five lifts to open in Phase I (including a high-speed gondola and high-speed detachable quad chairs)
-Ski school
-Children's programs
-Base and on-mountain skier facilities

Three 18-hole golf courses are envisioned. At least one of them will open in the resort's first phase and will provide semi-private/public play. Discussions are in progress with several nationally recognized course designers, including: Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Fazio, Ernie Els, and Arnold Palmer. Clubhouses, practice tees, putting greens, and kid-friendly target course, golf school, tennis courts, pools, and other club amenities are being considered.

I have contacted the mountain asking for additional images and some more information. They were hoping to have a few lifts running this season, but apparently they have had trouble with their EIR. The town of Westwood really supports the idea, so hopefully construction will begin soon. I sure hope it gets running, it will only be 4 and a half hours from my house.

Here is an article about the trouble with the EIR:

I will be looking for more info and will post it as i get it.

Here is the website, but the homepage doesnt work, so hit back if you go to it:

Well the EIR is basically complete, and design/engineering should begin soon. They say the website will be brought up and updated regularly. Hopefully this project will soon go through.
