See these pictures of the chairlifts in the underground mine. I wonder are the lifts from Doppelmayr CTEC or
Leitner - POMA or other companies?

Since it's in South Africa, one could only guess, but from the sheaves, I'd say Leitner.

liners worn to the inside and shiny flanges reveal grip and rope contact on the sheaves, no rope catchers on the train, no swing clearance mid-line, hope there's an excellant ground system to disperse static electricity (Boom!), minimal vert clearances. man! an accident waiting to happen.

Not to mention it looks like it would be pretty easy for the riders to get tangled up in the assemblies, or even hit their heads on the support versions... I see rope catchers on each end of the 4er frame?

aha, i see the little devils now (they might/might not extend 2x the rope diameter past the sheave flange - but better than nothing!) what are those ladder rungs(?) the guys riding over? i'd really worry about fire in there. remember the kaprun funicular incident? ugly indeed.
