Ski Windham (Windham, NY) Part II
Attached File  Windham___Base_View.jpg (604.38K)

Overview of the Base Lodge and the Enclave Village. The Whirlwind Quad (HSQ) is on the bottom left. The Whiteway Triple Chair and some of its towers are on the right and there are two magic carpets on the bunny hill which is surrounded by the left side of the base lodge and the Enclave Village (everything else than encloses the bunny hill)

Bottom Terminal of the K-Lift (FGQ). This lift doesn't really go up the mountain. There are two towers then the top terminal. The main purpose of the lift is it removes the hike up the hill to the world-renowned Windham Adaptive Snow Sports Center

Attached File  Windham_2007_Race_Pics_2_022.jpg (1.99MB)
Number of downloads: 45
The Base of the Whirlwind Quad (HSQ). To the right is the Whistler Triple Chair which is a Fixed-Grip chair and is an alternative when the Whirlwind is crowded (which it always is) because for reasons which I don't understand, even though it goes to the same place as the HSQ, there is never a line. The liftline in the background is the Wonderama Triple Chair (FGT). [Sorry for the large size of this picture. I forgot to scale this one down to a smaller file size]

Bottom Terminal and Liftline of the Whiteway Triple Chair. (This picture is an example of how crowded the base lifts at Windham can get. To avoid the crowds, take the Whiteway Triple up early then ski over to the East Peak Express to get to the top of the East Peak. There are a few long empty trails there which are generally empty and make for a crowd free morning...or afternoon)

I think I have shown at least one picture of every lift at Ski Windham. Windham is a very big place, and although not as big as Hunter, Whiteface, or Gore, it has the attitude and the terrain to challenge the bigger hills.

My next big Update will either be Hunter, Toggenburg Part II, Mount Peter, or Tuxedo Ridge (Formerly Known as Sterling Forest). Post what I should put up first.

If you could continue on with Hunter, that would be great. The way that I will go through and do the pages is once I have enough photos for one ski area, I try to do the whole thing rather than posting random pictures from different ski areas.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

OK, I will post Hunter next. If you are posting Hunter and Windham at the same time, you might want to post Belleayre as well considering it is in the same area as Hunter and Windham and is larger than Windham (in terms of amount of trails). For Hunter, I don't have pictures of all of the lifts.
If this is helpful at all, I also have pictures from a closed ski area in Highmount (the town Belleayre is in) call Highmount Ski Area. If you want to post those, let me know and I will upload them.

Before I post the gigantic Hunter post, here are some pics from another area.

Highmount Ski Area (Highmount, NY)
Highmount Ski Area is a small area next to Belleayre. I closed in 1995 or 1996 but almost everything is still left from the original mountain. It is accessible off of Deer Run and the path to it is right after the middle of the trail on the turn just before the begining of Cayuga (Or Whichever trail comes off of Deer Run).

(I finally learned how to reduce the size of my pictures without reducing the quality!)

That's all I am uploading for now. I have more but I'll upload them at a later date when I work out the art of reducing the sizes of the images to a good size.

Word on the street is though, that Highmount is being bought by someone who wants to build a resort that has some connection to Belleayre.

Finally, here it is...

Hunter Mountain (Hunter, NY) Part I

Because of the large amount of pictures, I will upload them a few lifts at a time.

ALL PICTURES WERE TAKEN ONH 12/27/06 AND 12/28/06 DURING THE NORTHEAST DECEMBER WARMSPELL OF 2006 WHICH IS THE REASON FOR THE LACK OF SNOW IN THE PICTURES.

This part of the forum will have the main lift, Liftt AA (The Snowlite Express - HSQ)
The Snowlite Express is a base to summit High-Speed Quad built by Poma and unfortunately, though, I am not sure of the installation year.

First Off, The Trail Map:

The Liftline. The Lift Continues On After Where It Seems To End In the Picture. (The Liftline Next To The Snowlite Is the D-Lift Triple Chair Which Only Goes Up To Right Around Where It Dissapears In the Picture. I Will Upload Pics Of this Lift Later)

My Next Update Will Have the B Lift, C Lift, and possibly th F Lift (Time Permitting)

Hunter Mountain (Hunter, NY) Part 2

DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, THIS UPDATE WILL ONLY HAVE THE B LIFT

ALL PICTURES WERE TAKEN ON 12/27-28/06 DURING THE DECEMBER 2006 WARM SPELL WHICH IS THE REASON FOR THE LACK OF SNOW.

Lift B (The Broadway Ltd. Quad -FGQ)
Lift B is the main chairlift for the lower section of the main area (referred to as Hunter Mountain on the trail map) it is slow and generally crowded but goes right over Hunter's famous terrain park so there is something to watch.

Attached File  Hunter___B_Lift_Liftline.jpg (859.83K)

Liftline (Normally There Is A Terrain Park Under the Lift But Due to the Lack Of Snow, There Wasn't Much Of A Terrain Park)

THE NEXT UPDATE WILL COME AROUND MONDAY. IT WILL HAVE THE C LIFT AND POSSIBLY THE F LIFT
