For me it depends on how much pow there is the be had. I will frequently ski a few hours even in nasty weather if its good snow conditions. Usualy only for a few hours if its cold and windy though.

I like to ski when the weather is bad because there aren't too many crowds! I too, like to ski the powder. If the winds are really high, like high enough to close my favorite lifts, I don't ski.

The beauty of working in the industry is being picky about when you ride or ski. I try to get my work done when the weather is bad or even mediocre so that I can take a 1/2 day here and there to ride when it is good.

While skiing, the last thing I mind about is the weather. It may be raining, storming, whatever, I still can find some fun in that.

I sit in the alpine maintenance hut, or base shop and say wow it's really windy out there then close the lifts... and then smile because I know MikeSt2 is going through the same thing... like yesterday and the day before!! If I'm not at work and it's ugly out I don't even go near the resort.

I take it you could hear me swearing from there !! Gem was over 60 mph most of the day, it's a wierd feeling when the windows of the shack pulsate.

I only ski when the weather is moderate to perfect. I don't know, I just hate skiing in winds (high winds 50+), freezing fog with no visibility and super icy conditions.

However, high winds and cold temps don't bother me.

No one ever listens to the groundhog. But whether we believe it or not, he's always right. It was 77 in Denver today. I'd call it more of an early summer.

Not in your neck of the woods, anyway... 3-5" of rain each day at Mt Baker lately, I hear.

It has gotten much colder now, Crystal was between about 16 and 25 degrees today. 2" new over 3-5 inches of refrozen rain.

If it's not busy out i ski. Even if the skiing is bad it's the only time I don't have to wait in line to ski at my resort.

I ski when I can, depending on the weather. I make my decision pretty much based on whether I want to deal with the conditions as well as if I have other work that needs to be done, or if I feel like it or not.

For me I won't ski on weekends and holidays but bad weather, even rain, though not freezing rain, I will ski in. Some of the best ski days are in some of the nastiest weather.

I'm generally a fairweather skier, although I still get out during a storm if the skiing's good.

Me, I love freshy and sunshine  But we always have those kinda days when I have to work! :cursing: And of course the regulars like to tease me about it! I tell 'em, "Keep teasing me and I won't let ya on the lift! "
