Vail Gondola Inspection Video

Look at this video on YouTube, it appears to be the old vail gondola from before the CTEC one arrived. Anyone know if this kind of inspection is done to other lifts?

Yes, this same inspection is done on all aerial lift ropes (and maybe even some surface lifts, though not a requirement in Canada). However in the case of a chairlift, the device is tied off to a station or tower and the rope runs through it.
