Avant Browser
My name doesn't mean I ski a lot. It means that I'm big, and I'm a skier.

I'm trying out Firefox 3 right now, and I'm quite pleased so far. It's not too different than 2, but there are some nice features such as the history. The only thing that I don't like as you see in the second picture is the spacing in the reply page.

I like firefox, and safari. Firefox -better web app support, safari - nicer interface, nice developer tools. As a web developer, I loathe every version of IE.

Is anyone else having problems with the forum and Firefox 3? It doesn't remember my login and I have to enter my email and password every time. It works fine in IE7.

Right now I'm trying out IE 8. It's really not much different than 7, except it seems to have a more Vista-ish interface. Still no spell check, and it's not that fast either, so I think that I'm going to stick with Firefox 3. One thing that I did notice, however is that it bolds the domain of the web page and the rest is in gray. One glitch as you will see in the second screen shot is that it for some reason does not wrap the text in the text box. Hopefully this will get fixed soon. Also it won't let me browse for attachments so its back to Firefox for me!!

I also downloaded Google Chrome another new web browser. I'm pretty impressed so far. It's fast and has an application called incognito window where it doesn't show up in your history. All normal functions work, it has spell check, has the bolded domain (makes you wonder if Microsoft copied that) but unfortunately there isn't a home page button. That would be my only complaint.

I use Firefox. Just have a better time with it, and seems to have better features overall.

On Mac, I use exclusively Safari 3. I've never had an issue with it, No crashes  . On Windows my favourite by a narrow margin would still have to be Internet Explorer 7.

Next time I boot my PC, I'm going to try out Google Chrome.

Internet Explorer 7? :helpsmilie:

Doesn't it render web pages horribly and overuse memory while also unsecure?

Renders pages as good as Firefox if not better for me. It's a bit of memory hog, but thats what 3 or 6GB of RAM is for

As for the unsecure part, I've not once had a security issue with it. Then again, I don't risk going on shady sites with my PC.

ie7 works for me just fine.

My preference for Firefox comes from a couple of directions.

1. The ease and abundance of add ons. I have all popups, ads, and flash blocked and activate as I feel necessary.
2. I switched to Firefox because IE wasn't as stable (this was a couple of versions ago).
3. Why use Microsoft when something else is just as good? (Yes, I do tend to go for the under dog)
