Hi, I need a little help. Which is longer, the Slide Brook Express at Sugarbush or that Quad the runs up the right side of Telluride. I can't read the lift name, buts #10 on the linked map.

Thanks in advance! I need this to settle a bet.

Slide Brook Express is the longest in the world at 11,012 feet. At the time built, Telluride's Sunshine Express was the longest at 10,732 feet but Sugarbush's Slide Brook Express passed it in 1995. In between is the Chile Express at Angel Fire, NM with a length of 10,992 feet.

So do you win or lose?

I find it funny that Doppelmayr says in their ad that Peruvian Express is "one of the longest, if not the longest lift in north america" It is the 28th longest high speed quad and 51st longest lift.

Thanks! I win...big time.

Its hard to believe its the longest lift in the world though. There isn't a gondola or tram somewhere that is longer? I was just on it a couple Sundays ago. Its a fun ride.

Any chance you have the dimensions of the Telluride chair handy? My guess is that its about 7k feet long.

Wow, thanks. I was way off on the Sunshine chair 10.7k feet long...so my friend wasn't too far off.

Incidently I noticed the Silver Queen Gondola at Aspen is over 13k feet long (installed in 1986), is that correct?

Yes, it comes directly from the lift manufacturer. However, Silver Mountain's gondola is longer.

Slide Brook is the longest high speed quad and I think chairlift. There are many longer gondolas though

I think Dopp also claimed the Slide Brook Express was the fastest HSQ in the world at it's time of being built at 1150 fpm, but I think that has been surpassed already by now as well. It sure is an awesome ride though!
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.
