There's a bit more to add to that list, but I don't want to go into that. Does Chile Express really go 1200 fpm? Brad, you've ridden it, what would you say?

I don't know where you guys get your info but Timberline Lodge Magic Mile Express is capable of 1200 fpm. I used to work as the Lift Maint Manager there.

It came from SAM and the lift manufacturers via the lift constuction surveys on this site. I have attached a scan of the actual page in SAM.

Nice, this is a good source of info. I just wanted to point out an error on their part.

Next time I am at Timberline I will do a actual BW revs per minute and calculate the actual line speed if they are running at full speed . They normaly run at reduced speed due to weather and the condition of the sheaves on line (flat spots on sheaves). Also the lift capacity states 3000 pph this is also incorrect as this instalation only has half of the chairs it was designed for . So the real capacity is 1500 pph. Do the lift stats state the actual or the design specs? I don't want to start a controversy over this. I am just stating factual knowledge from actualy working on this instalation. Peace out man.

In the last few years, SAM has been listing both the design and initial capacities, the vast majority of lifts have the same for both.

The data from SAM/POMA are for the designed capacity, not current. So maybe with the reduced carriers, T-Line bumped Magic Mile up an extra 100 fpm.

I know that when I've ridden Magic Mile, it seems to always travel at 900 fpm. This of course is in the summer time, so the only crowds it sees are in the morning. No sense wasting extra money to run a lift that isn't used after 10 AM.

The Mile was running slower on Tuesday as well. Definately not anywhere near 1200 fpm. The crowds were small. However, Molly's and Norman were running their usual speed.

Wish they would upgrade Pucci's...

:offtopic: Indeed Pucci will become a ghost lift and most likely will be used for race days and night operations if they do not light the new runs that the hydro(RIP) express serves. I have not heard of any plans for them to run night lighting on this lift .

They were planning to have night skiing, it says in the press release, "Expanded night skiing terrain. Night lighting would be installed on half of the terrain proposed for the Timberline Express, which would offer exciting new terrain and give plenty of extra room to racing teams and other night skiers.
